The Fake-Out First Dance is a modern wedding trend where couples begin with a classic first dance, then surprise their guests with an unexpected music switch and choreographed shuffle routine. It’s designed to look effortless, feel fun, and land the reveal at exactly the right moment — without requiring prior dance experience. HOW IT WORKS: Session 1 — Strategy & Design Planning + choreography creation begins We assess dance experience, comfort level, reception logistics, and timing for the music switch. We discuss song options, energy level, and any moves or ideas you already have in mind. Based on this session, I begin designing your custom choreography outside of lesson time, tailored to what you can realistically and confidently perform. Includes: - Complexity assessment -Reception logistics & timing - Music selection or refinement - Style and movement preferences - Off-session choreography design begins Session 2 — Learn the Building Blocks Teach the core moves We learn the foundational moves that make up your choreography. This session is about confidence and comfort — not perfection. If a move doesn’t feel right, we swap or simplify while staying true to the overall structure of the dance. Focus: - Learn core moves - Adjust choreography if needed - Build comfort and confidence Session 3 — Transitions & Musical Alignment Make it feel like a dance, not a list of steps We connect the moves, smooth out transitions, and begin aligning everything to the music — including the moment of the surprise switch. This is where the choreography starts to feel natural and intentional. Focus: - Clean transitions - Musical phrasing - Timing the Fake-Out reveal Session 4 — Polish & Performance Prep Confidence, clarity, and calm We refine the details, align the timing, and practice performing the dance with confidence. You’ll leave knowing exactly what to do — and when — on the big day. Focus: - Flow and musical clarity - Confidence under “performance” conditions - Final adjustments
